The new Dick and Marialyce Tobin Visual Arts Building on the northeast corner of the Casper College campus is complete. Designed by MOA Architecture, the two-story building has 31,825 square feet of usable space and houses instructional and administrative spaces for the college.
First floor features include a ceramics studio, kiln areas, a metal/welding shop, a sculpture studio, a spray booth, a wood shop, an art gallery, art storage and exhibition prep area, classrooms, offices, and conference room. Second floor includes a painting studio, drawing studio, graphic resource, Mac lab, 2D/Foundations studio, printmaking, metal studio and jewelry making studio, critique area, photo suite, dark room, classrooms, and offices.
The large landscape plaza is welcoming to students and visitors, and the new building has state-of-the-art safety and climate control features to help preserve the valuable art collection consisting of more than 400 pieces of work.
